The park is located in Seward on the coast, about two and a quarter hours south of Anchorage. It is a popular stop for cruise ships. Seward has a visitor center with maps and books on the history of the area. You can also take a water taxi to the park. You can also go on a guided sea kayak tour from Seward.

Visitors can stay at Aialik and Holgate cabins during the summer season. The lodges can be reached via water taxi, float plane or private boat. There are also some public use cabins in Kenai Fjords National Park Alaska. You can reach these coastal cabins by private boat, floatplane, or charter boat. You should rent a kayak if you plan on hiking to Aialik Cape. The waters can be treacherous.
